For some of you, the word “Trans” may be somewhat confusing. Maybe the only time you have heard it is from a TV show or other media source. To be fair it is a confusing term. It can legitimately mean a number of quite different things.
So for those of you who are as I was just a few short years ago, here is some info on what Transgender means.
: of, relating to, or being a person whose gender identity differs from the sex the person had or was identified as having at birth

I am the second type.
But there are some unusual terms in there, what do they mean? To answer that we will turn to GLAAD. GLAAD is a pro-LGBT media watch group. Please go to their glossary entry for Transgender for a more detailed definition that includes some of those unusual terms.
