The J is for Jasmine, my chosen female name. Arabella is my chosen middle name. The numbers refer to significant dates in my self-discovery. It was on the sixth that I first realized I was transgender. But as anyone who has gone through any profound changes knows to perceive that something is different is one thing, being able to accept it is another. It was on the 16th that I was able to fully embrace who I am.
