Why Only LGBT?

Some may ask ‘Why don’t I use LGBTQ+ or LGBTQAI+?’. I would love to include everyone. I really hate that every term we have, even LGBTQAI+, is leaving people out. We are all valid. We all deserve equal representation. But how long of an acronym would that take? I would much prefer to use a term like ‘rainbow people’ or just queer. But those terms don’t always work.

The one thing I have learned over the past few years is that our world is a lot more diverse than I ever realized before. And as medical science grows in its understanding of our diversity we keep adding new terms to describe it all. It is sad that so many people only see in black and white when God has given us every color under the rainbow. We are so blessed with all of this diversity.

Unfortunately, so far we do not have a common term that properly expresses all of this diversity. This leaves me with a couple choices. I can constantly add letters to a never-ending acronym, or change how I use the term LGBT. Instead of looking at it as an acronym for four different groups I can take a different perspective. I can use it as an expression for all of the glorious diversity God has given us.

Obviously, the latter is my choice. I hope I do not offend anyone by taking this approach. I sincerely believe we are all valid. I am extremely sorry if this solution hurts anyone. I hope someday we truly have an all-inclusive term that is commonly used.
